Wedding Food

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

Over the years, its been my lucky fortune to work with many, many talented caterers and chefs. At a recent wedding I had the priviledge to photograph, there was an extra something special about the role the food played in the wedding. Both the bride and the groom had a special love of food seldom incorporated into such an event. Their wedding, instead of consisting of one sit-down meal, was an ongoing parade of delicious food items. The menu consisted of Spicy Gazpacho Shooters, Shrimp Lollipops, Black Bean Quesadillas with Avocado Aioli, Pan Seared Scallops with Asian Slaw in a Wonton Cup, Grilled Asparagus Wrapped with Smoked Salmon with Tarragon Aioli, Vietnamese Sticky Ginger Chicken Lettuce Cups, Spicy Peanut Udon Noodles, Beef Empanada with Roasted Tomato and Cumin Aioli, Mini Lamb Gyro on Pita with Olive Tapenade and Tzatziki, Sweet Potato Samosas, Apple & Smoked Gouda Croustade with Honey Mustard, Marinated Onions and Cress, Herbed Falafels, and assortment of cheeses and fruits, and not to forget a scrumptious wedding cake that was actually two cakes in one!

Although I wasn’t able to capture every dish, here is a sample of those dishes I was able to. My biggest regret of the day, and even to this day, when invited to have a slice of the wedding cake, because I was “working” I declined. I look at the cake photos now and only wished I had put down my camera for just a moment to partake and enjoy. Oh well! For more food photography visit www.angelacoulombe.com/food.php

Social Media FTW09

Monday, October 12th, 2009

I was asked by Rich Brooks, owner of Flyte New Media and the local organizer of Social Media FTW Conference 09, to photograph the FTW09 conference.

Within hours of the conference, I had some images uploaded to Facebook and a day later to Flickr (there were over 300 shots), but here is a recap for my blog.

Sara & Aaron’s Wedding

Sunday, October 11th, 2009

Back in September I had the privilege to work with Sara and Aaron on their wedding. Held at their aunt’s house, the wedding was an outdoor event with the perfect weather for the occassion. The decorations were all handled by the family with the help of some best friends, including all the floral arrangements which were all uniquely designed and arranged. The food was exquisite (more on that in another post) and the day was absolutely gorgeous. The wedding took place in the late afternoon, the weather held out all day and the sun was just setting as the cake was cut and the dancing began. All in all, a fabulous, friendly, casual and all around loving event! Thank you Sara and Aaron for letting Angela Coulombe Photography capture the event!
