Halloween 2009

I should start this post: Halloween, the FIRST House on the Left!

Every year my neighbours (first house on the left) put on a fantastic Halloween display and really make the children work for their "treats". I must admit, I’m not one for the horror film genre, nor do I like things that frighten the bejeezus out of me, or jump out at me and make me feel as though I’m having a coronary stroke. However, I just can’t keep away from this house, wondering what they will do next and what they’ll have set up for a scare. One year, I was more frightened then the children I brought trick-or-treating to the house. We had to walk through the back garden which was set up like a film set resplendid with smoke machines and characters realistic enough to do any horror film proud. The first thing that jumped out at us was a werewolf type figure from behind a coffin. I screamed so loud that I starteled the kids I was with moreso than the werewolf did. My scream was heard about 1/4 of a mile away as well.

Last year, since I wanted to photograph some of the mayhem, I particularly asked that no one jump out at me, but I have to admit, I was still a bit creeped out. However, I’m really looking foward to what they will do this year and will definitely make it back again this year. For more photos, visit www.angelacoulombe.com
