Watching your loved ones grow and mature into young adults is a remarkable process. Sometimes this process hits you all at once, the realization takes place when you witness a rites of passage event such as promotion from junior high to high school. I was commissioned to document the preparations for one such event June 16, 2010. The promotion has a semi formal component to it, the ceremony itself to be followed by a dance. Documenting the preparations for the event and watching before my lens the transformation from school girl to sophisticated graduate was nothing short of awe inspiring and breath taking. Congratulations to my subject and  to all those who are making this same journey!
