Taste of Maine, WMA
Last Friday, November 13, I journeyed up to the University of Farmington, Maine to attend “ATaste of Maine” at the Western Mountains Alliance’s
annual meeting and fundraiser. The big pull of the night was to have an opportunity to listen to the gubernatorial candidates who each had a turn introducing themselves and sharing their visions for the western Maine region. Kudos to Tricia Cook who organized this hugely successful event. Les Otten, Sen. Libby Mitchell, Lynne Williams, Rosa Scarcelli and Steve Rowe, on speaker phone, Sen. Peter Mills
I had first viewed this event solely as a photo opportunity and had vowed to stay neutral in my portrail of the candidates. However, I soon found I was engrossed in the whole affair, caught up in the politics of the night, intrigued to hear the gubernatorial candidates respond to questions from the audience. I was particularly struck by the responses of two of the candidates, who I will now follow closer as a direct result of attending this event. Again kudos to Tricia Cook for organizing this informative event.
